The project, which began in 2013, has seen an extraordinary synergy between public and private players, enabling the plant, a world leader in terms of both technological progress and respect for the environment, to be completed in record time. The company has built a modern 25,000 square metre plant on a total area of over 60,000 square metres. The plant is one of the most advanced in the world for its high level of automation, in both logistics and production.

Lift truck fleet renewal
– Replace 80% of older trucks with safer models.
– The remaining 20% will be replaced with new-generation vehicles equipped with lithium batteries.
Accessibility and public green spaces
– Creation of 2 parking spaces for the disabled.
– Creation and maintenance of 2000 square metres of public green space in the adjacent car park.
Energy efficiency
– Installation of LED luminaires and twilight sensors for autonomous management.
– Automation of lighting systems.
– Solar thermal system on the roof for hot water.
Environmental sustainability
– Initiation of the Single Environmental Permit process for methane boiler and wastewater discharge.
Maintenance and safety
– Successful thermographic inspection of electrical panels.
– Implementation of a smoke-free policy throughout the plant, including outdoor areas.
Viability
– Construction of a link road between the Altare toll station and the plant, optimizing heavy goods traffic and reducing congestion on the local road network. The link road includes a path for pedestrians and cyclists.
Safety and security
– Activation of an internal prevention and protection service with continuous monitoring and support for staff.
Vehicle fleet renewal
– Replacement of 15% of vehicles with EURO 6 models.
